Narcissus Mount Hood is named after one of the most popular mountains in the world! This classic variety is older than 80 years and has been first cultivated in the Netherlands in 1930’s. The flower prefers cooler climates and has typical narcissus – six white petals. What makes it very special is its gigantic yellow trumpet, which turns white over time! Mount Hood blooms in March and is one of the first spring bloomers. With its length of 40 cm it’s a perfect for cut flower use and easily combines with other spring varieties.
The Big Crown Daffodils group is well known for its huge trumpets that can reach the size of its petals, and in some cases, outgrow the whole flower. This variety has a long blooming life and the bulbs can quickly multiply, which makes it perfect for covering large areas with flowers.
Greek mythology says that there were handsome young men and beautiful young women, who were obsessed with admiring their own beauty that their personalities turned out to be very self-centered and narcissistic. As a result, the gods transformed them into the beautiful narcissus flowers.
