Canna Richard Wallace
Canna ‘Richard Wallace’ gets beautiful large yellow flowers and green leaves and creates a tropical look in your garden. They prefer full sun in well rich, drained soil.
These beautiful plants can be placed in pots as well as in a border. Take a large pot with holes in the bottom. Cover the bottom with potsherds or a layer of hydro pellets. Put potting soil in the flower pot and place the Canna root at the right height. Fill with soil and press firmly. Water generously immediately after planting. Place the flower pot or planter in a spot in full sun. The flowers and large leaves of Cannas are indispensable in a border with a tropical character. Provide a sunny spot for these tropical plants to feel at home. Canna tubers, like dahlias, are very easy to overwinter. After the first night frost, remove the tubers from the pot or from the open ground. Put the Cannas in a crate with peat moss or sand. Large Canna tubers can be divided immediately. Store the Canna tubers in a frost-free place. You can replant them next spring (after the last frost).
The canna comes in many shapes and sizes. On average, the canna grows to around 70 cm, but there are species that grow to over a metre. The Richard Wallace canna grows to 120 cm.
