When does Keukenhof 2024 open?
Keukenhof is always open from mid-March to mid-May. This year, the most beautiful flower park in the world, opens on Thursday March 21st 2024. It is open daily from 08:00 to 19:30, including weekends and public holidays. Keukenhof closes again on Sunday May 12th 2024. We recommend that you book your Keukenhof ticket in advance. You can buy tickets online for specific time slots and be asured that you won't be faced with sold-out Keukenhof Gardens. Especially at the end of April, beginning of May, when the tulips are in bloom, this can be the case. In addition, online tickets are cheaper than tickets bought on site.
What is the Keukenhof theme for 2024?
This year is very special because the exhibition celebrates its 75th anniversary. On March 1st, the beginning of meteorological spring, it was decided in 1949 to organize a flower exhibition. Thus, the idea for Keukenhof was born. Keukenhof welcomes spring with enchanting early blooms, both indoors and outdoors. It is difficult to give a clear answer as to when is the best time to visit the Keukenhof. Every flowering period has its own special charm and every day a different type of flower is in full bloom:
When do the tulips bloom at Keukenhof?
If you visit Keukenhof Flower Park at the beginning of the opening period (mid-March - mid-April), you can mainly admire early bloomers such as crocuses, daffodils, hyacinths and also a few early-flowering tulips. After that, the flowering period of the tulips begins. Depending on the weather conditions, Keukenhof is usually in full bloom from mid-April up to and including the first week of May. During these weeks you will see a true explosion of colours and fragrances. Almost every day, different varieties are in bloom and the flower park no longer resembles that of the day before.
Flower parade 2024
The highlight of every Keukenhof season is the Flower Parade (Dutch: Bloemencorso). This year the Flower Parade will take place on Saturday 20 April 2024. The procession consists of about 14 floats and as many as 30 luxury and special cars, festively decorated with tulips, hyacinths and daffodils. The floats are accompanied by music ensembles. The parade starts in Noordwijk and travels 42km via Voorhout, Sassenheim, Lisse, Hillegom, Bennebroek and Heemstede to Haarlem.
How much time shoud be planned for a Keukenhof visit?
The flower park covers 32 hectares, the size of 45 football fields, and more than 7 million bulbs have been planted. It is therefore advisable to bring a little time to look and enjoy. Most visitors spend around 3 hours in the flower garden.

How to get to Keukenhof
Keukenhof Park is located in the middle of the beautiful tulip fields of the "Bollenstreek" in the Netherlands. In spring, the tulips are in full bloom, making not only the park but also the entire surrounding area radiant. Parking is possible on the grounds of Keukenhof but it is also possible to travel there by public transport. For the opening hours of the park, extra buses are operated from Amsterdam RAI, Schiphol Airport, Leiden and Haarlem. When you buy your entrance ticket, you can also buy a combined ticket for the above-mentioned Keukenhof Express Bus.
