Muscari Valerie Finnis is a grape hyacinth that was named after a well-known British botanist – Valerie Finnis (in 1924 – 2006), because this variety was first discovered growing in her garden. Muscari is well known for having a sturdy stem with the tightly packed, cone-shaped flower cluster. Each flower resembles a grape and is very fragrant. This lovely grape-hyacinth has a rare sky-blue colour and looks wonderful in a combination with gorgeous pink muscari “Pink Sunrise” and white muscari “Siberian Tiger”.
The flowers prefer any medium-moisture soil and look fantastic in the lawn, perimeters, containers, wooden pots and barrels. The bulbs are very easy to grow, and they don’t require any special care. A great fact about muscari is that it can self-seed in your garden! Make sure to plant the bulbs in the autumn so they can naturalize and surprise you with more beautiful flowers every year. The grape-hyacinths are also available in various shapes and multicolours!
